And…. Here goes the Urban Outfitters Early Spring 2012 Catalogue featuring San Francisco as its muse.
The shoot took place in some several spots including the backdrops of Bernal Heights, the Golden Gate Bridge, Sutro Tower, Land’s End and other SF awesome spots.
The fact that they use bright colored clothes against the natural background, it really make the clothes spot on. Tim Barber, the photographer, also really clever on doing the shot which still giving the power of the beautiful landscape of San Fransisco but now overshined the clothes. I can’t deny that the shoot makes me want to go there and prove the beauty myself. Check out images from the shoot below!
Chado Ralph Rucci Cancels his Upcoming February 12th Show
Chado Ralph Rucci is now becoming the second designer that will cancel his February 12 Fashion Week show. In August 2010, Rucci scratched a brilliant show for his Spring 2011 collection due to the medical leave of his company’s president, Vivian Van Natta.
But Rucci said that money was not the main reason his cancelled Fall 2012 show, and it was not because of the time slot, which made him has to go head-to-head with Tommy Hilfiger.
Although the reasons aren’t clear yet, another story also came from Celine’s Phoebe Philo. She announced her pregnancy with her third child which made her had to cancel the show.
Well we surely hope that Chado Ralph Rucci has a good reason behind this and we hope him for the best.
The top notch fashion magazine has released the cover of the March 2012 issue featuring Gwyneth Paltrow looking sleek and flawless. Thanks to the tagline, “Gwyneth Revealed,” if it wasn’t there, you might not know it was her.
The shot was photographed by Terry Richardson. Gwyneth in the new issue with a cover shoot and her own page called “The A List”
The Oscar-winning actress herself also talked about her best pal, Beyonce, as well on living in the UK:
“In England, people are cool. They’re really laid back and calm. Beyonce did a school run with me once, and everyone was fine. They also have really good anti-paparazzi rules. If you’re driving in a car and they make you feel freaked out, that’s against the law. They cant put you in magazine unless they pixelate the kids’ faces. I miss America, but I love living in the UK.”
Halle Berry was recently found in Germany shooting a new commercial for her… shoe line! The set was in Berlin. This was done to promote her new line for German shoe company, Deichmann, which will be called ‘5th Avenue by Halle Berry’.
There is no clear explanation why Berry chose to launch a line with Deichmann, a brand which I just found out when this news came up. Deichmann has been a family-owned business since 1913 and will continue to remain independent. In 2010, the Deichmann Group sold more than 152 million pairs of shoes worldwide – credit from Deichmann’s website.That is a good record! Good one!
However, some people are doubting this collaboration seeing as she’s not famous for being a high-heels fetish. (Unlike Lady Gaga and some other crazy celebs – no offense).
All set! Halle Berry is the new Deichmann’s spokesperson and has designed a full collection that will be available in European stores in March.
Victoria Secret's Launches Fancy Designer Collections
Victoria’s Secret is lifting up their brand. The infamous lingerie brand is launching The Victoria’s Secret Designer Collection, to catch up with more high end brands.
Their tagline on the Victoria’s Secret website is, “It’s lingerie only Victoria’s Secret could create,”
Apparently, the new Designer Collection has been hiding right under us: some of the bras and underwear were featured in November’s Victoria’s Secret fashion show. The pieces will range in price from $38 to $298, which now are available online and in select stores, including two stores in NYC.
Fancy yet pricey undies and bras? This is no Victoria’s Secret PINK. Would you want to dig your pocket deeper for these super-fancy lingerie?
Sienna and Savannah Miller end their relationship with Twenty8Twelve
Sienna and Savannah Miller has officially decided to end their relationship with their clothing line called Twenty8Twelve.
"We’ve had a brilliant six years at Twenty8Twelve and are now looking forward to new pastures," the Millers’ said. "We wish the brand the best of luck for the future." The line will still continue, but starting with the fall collection, the label will read "Twenty8Twelve London" rather than "Twenty8Twelve by s. miller."
Both launched Twenty8Twelve in 2007 in conjunction with Pepe Jeans and Spanish entrepreneur Carlos Ortega. Savannah is the designer while Sienna became the face of the brand. FYI I think Savannah is prettier than Sienna! How do you think about that? - Just saying =)
However, it seems strange that they’re still on hold on why exactly they’re leaving. Could it have something to do with Sienna’s recent pregnancy announcement? ;)
According to the claim by five Forever 21 employees, Forever 21 company made them and fellow co-workers work off the clock without compensation.
They also claim Forever 21 failed to give them their full 30 minute meal breaks because “they were required to wait for up to 15 minutes to be searched for Forever 21 merchandise by store managers”.
One of the lead attorneys on the case commented:
"Sales associates at Forever 21 stores are often still in high school and under the age of 18 when they begin their employment. These young people are vulnerable and often do not understand their employment rights. This lawsuit is meant to give these young people a voice about how they were treated while employed by Forever 21 in California."
The employees are seeking for the unpaid wages ( including overtime wages) labor penalties and for Forever 21 to change their labor policies.
Well well well. Let’s hope the case isn’t going anywhere bigger and can be solved quickly in a professional way.
Kristen Stewart to be the new face of Balenciaga's second perfume campaign
Well congratulations to our twilight sweetheart, Kristen Stewart to be the new face of Balenciaga’s second perfume campaign! Woo!

Creative Director Nicolas Ghesquiereadds that Stewart “…embodies the modernity of the new Balenciaga fragrance with her unique sensibility and intelligence.”
Over the past few years, Stewart has certainly made a name for herself in the film industry and also towards fashion, but also regarding her rising fame. Fashion-wise, Kristen’s got a dark, rebellious streak packaged up in high-fashion style — just like Nicolas Ghesquiere’s Balenciaga.
I’ll be waiting fo the campaign pictures this fall then! What a far way to go!
Lil Wayne officially launched his Trukfit clothing line
Lil Wayne officially launched his debut Trukfit clothing line during Market Week in New York.
He hosted a private show at El Privado in the Hotel Americano with Young Money’s T-Streets, Lil Twist, Mack Maine, Gudda Gudda and manager Cortez Bryant along with Twist’s 19th birthday.
The clothing line, TRUKFIT stands for “The Reason You Kill For It” which will be launched at Zumiez stores across the nation, at Zumiez.com and Karmaloop.com.

As a brand, TRUKFIT is a state of mind – it is about being yourself, having fun, being free, being driven and being able to express all these elements and more. Graphic Prints has spread all over the spring 2012’s collection as a trend. Bold, vibrant, yet interesting prints have arrived in the house. Woohoo! Thanks to Marni as the first one who started this whole phenomenon and now this whole graphic prints is everywhere.
Bold, vibrant, yet fun graphic prints are shown through clothing and even seen on accessories as well. Surprisingly, the combination of the color of each prints make a harmonious flow that is appealing to our eyes, instead of being seen as ‘too much’. Personally I think this trend is awesome, but I don’t think I can take a part in spreading this. Because I don’t have that much courage to wear these clothes wandering around Jakarta (trust me, they all will see you like they are seeing an alien walking around). Probably a simple handbag or a nice printed shoes will be a better option for me. Ha! This is perfect for a daring person! x)
The new Roberto Cavalli’s advertisement for Spring/Summer 2012 collection is about the power of 4 powerful models in the industry. Those excellent models are Naomi Campbell, Karen Elson, Kristen McMenamy and Daphne Groeneveld. These top models were selected to match the collection which has a modern appeal to its audiences.
Captured by Steven Meisel, the quartet wear shimmering and elegant clothes (which was styled by Panos Yiapanis) with sleek, straight hair with the makeup done by Guido Palau and Pat McGrath. Meisel had set the studio (located on Pier 59 in New York) into an excellent work by using a monochromatic background, which emphasizes the glamorous details on Cavalli’s collection (which I found really beautiful and super detailed - especially the gold one. I wonder how long did it take for a dress!).
Naomi is one lucky girl. She got the chance to have a shot with the new Florence bag, which is now claimed to be the ‘It’ bag. The Italian designer himself said that this bag was made for his love to the city of Florence, Italy. This beautiful crocodile leather bag will surely become one of the hottest accessories of the season. Make sure you hit the store and buy one, ladies!

Darren Criss, one of the most promising actor and broadway headliner who is currently contributing in the sensational drama series “Glee”, has recently seen in Calvin Klein’s suit looking gorgeous as usual. Nice white shirt tucked in tailored pants, matched with a gray tie (which has cool stripes at the top) and topped up with the tailored jacket. The color of the suit is really cool and modern. The fact that it is in gray instead of black really gives different impressions to people who see this. He looks savvy yet approachable. I would say that Darren has gave some kind of charm to spice up his outfit which I think the power is on his nerdy glasses. He made the whole outfit become modern instead of being conservative. One think I concern about is the hair - he should have tidy up his hair before this event. It is nice that he shaved but I think he should have fix his curls as well. Keep singing, Darren!
So this week is the final week of my 2nd term, where all assignments and presentation projects are joining forces together and starting to kill me slowly -just joking. Anyways I managed to finish this week with a decent result, considering my hard times on the last few days. Andd here goes the pictures of me, my fellow classmates, my fellow assignments, etc etc etc. FREEDOM!!! -for a month
Final Advertising Project Presentation - create a new diffusion line for Marchesa and Harrods, which is called Marchesa Love Harrods. I’m the one with the color block shirt.
This is the last marketing project presentation. We were asked to do a proposal for a new mensline, called Charles & Keith for Men. It turned out really great :D
